Grof Breathwork Retreat on O’ahu

An immersive experience of breath, self-exploration, connection, and integration

February 24-28, 2027

Ka’a’awa, O’ahu, Hawaii

4 nights, 3 full day + opening and closing half-days

A Space to Breathe, Explore & Reconnect

Join us on the windward coast of Oʻahu for a small, immersive retreat centered around Grof® Breathwork, reflection, connection, and integration.

Held in the natural beauty and tranquility of Windward Retreat Center, this five-day experience offers an opportunity to step away from everyday demands and give yourself time and space for deeper self-exploration.

The retreat is intentionally kept small, creating an intimate and supportive environment for the breathwork experience and the time surrounding it.

No previous Grof® Breathwork experience is necessary.

What Is Grof® Breathwork?

No previous breathwork experience is needed.

Grof® Breathwork is an experiential practice rooted in the pioneering work of psychiatrist Stanislav Grof. It combines deeper, accelerated breathing, evocative music, and a supportive setting to encourage self-exploration and expanded awareness.

During a session, you are invited to follow your own breathing process while lying comfortably with your eyes closed as music supports the experience. Rather than directing you toward a particular outcome, the practice allows your experience to unfold in its own way.

Each person’s experience is unique. You may encounter emotions, memories, physical sensations, imagery, insights, or periods of quiet reflection. Trained Grof® Breathwork facilitators and apprentices are present throughout the session to help maintain a supportive environment.

You do not need to know how to “do” Grof® Breathwork before you arrive. The process, preparation, and guidelines will be explained before the session, with time afterward for reflection and integration.

The Breathwork Experience

During the retreat, you will have the opportunity to experience Grof® Breathwork from both perspectives: as a breather and as a sitter.

Each participant will take part in two Grof® Breathwork sessions as a breather and will also serve as a sitter for two sessions, offering quiet, attentive presence for another participant during their breathwork experience.

As a Breather

You will have two opportunities to enter your own Grof® Breathwork process, supported by music, the retreat setting, your sitter, and the facilitation team.

As a Sitter

You will also sit for another participant during two sessions. The sitter's role is one of attentive presence—remaining nearby and available while respecting the breather's individual process.

Before the first session, we will provide clear guidance and preparation for both roles, so no previous breathwork or sitting experience is necessary.
